Blindness Changes Everything
For people who are blind or visually impaired, the loss of sight marks the beginning of a profound life-changing reality. Everyday tasks that most people take for granted can become overwhelming, from simple activities like cooking or navigating the home to more complex tasks like commuting or working. This shift in independence can be deeply challenging, leading individuals to face not just physical obstacles but emotional ones as well.
As the world becomes harder to navigate, many individuals who are blind or visually impaired often experience feelings of depression, anxiety, and isolation. The frustration of needing assistance for tasks that were once easy can lead to a sense of helplessness, further distancing them from the world around them. It’s a stark reminder that the impact of sight loss goes beyond just the physical realm—it affects mental well-being and quality of life in profound ways.
